The Talboy Foundation is committed to making an impact following the Ebola crisis by addressing critical needs in education, healthcare, community development, and humanitarian aid. Our efforts span across Liberia (and around the world) transforming lives and creating sustainable change for communities in need.
Major Achievements
1. Improving Education
Built the first-ever library in Nimba County, Liberia—The Talboy Foundation Library at the House of Hope Orphanage.
Features hardcover books and plans to include computers and smart technology.
Distributed Bibles as the library's inaugural books.
Provided 5 computers to support digital learning.
Provided 212 educational scholarships to students as of November 2024.
Funded the construction of a senior high school with offices and a multi-use court (completion expected February 2025).
Supported educational in Sierra Leone and Tanzania.
Partnered with the STARS Technical School to supply stoves, sewing machines, tools, and fabric for skills training.
2. Improving Health
Built hand pump wells to address the water crisis, along with repairs to clinics, community wells, and homes for the elderly.
Completed 4 new wells and refurbished 2 wells as of November 2024.
Partnered with Ms. Gloria’s school (~120 children) to provide food and water, ensuring students' strength to learn.
Provided emergency relief to 50 children at NOMAA orphanages during the COVID-19 pandemic, covering food until regular donors resumed.
Provided medical equipment and repaired 2 medical clinics.
Supported a feeding program for 30 children in the Point Four community, which was severely impacted by Ebola.
Delivered food, clothing, and emergency medical support to families and communities, including funding surgeries and other medical emergencies.
Provided food, a generator, and bibles to a community in need.
Supplied medicine and a wheelchair to a patient in Liberia.
3. Empowering Women
Seed funding for 6 women-owned businesses, fostering economic independence.
Provided multiple scholarships to women to obtain degrees in social work, nursing, physician assistant, midwifery, and a nurse practitioner
4. Assisting Orphanages and Children with Disabilities
Assisted St. Martin’s Orphanage in Sierra Leone and provided optometry, housing, and food support for refugees, immigrants, and homeless individuals in Atlanta and beyond
Built a library/learning center at the House of Hope Orphanage
Provided food during COVID -19 to House of Hope Orphanage
Provided funds for emergency surgery and a wheelchair to a child at the House of Hope
